What is a ‘Dissident’?

Dissident. /ˈdɪsɪdənt/ A person who opposes official policy, especially that of an authoritarian state. L. dissidens, -entis, pr.p. of dissidēre—dis, apart, sedēre, to sit.

The word “dissident” is rooted in Latin, dis-, meaning “apart,” and sedere, “to sit.” Dissidents "sit apart" from the prevailing orthodoxy. To be a dissident is to withhold consent, approval, compliance, or submission to the prevailing power structure; to stand in opposition.

Does DissidentRags.com sell worldwide?

Unfortunately, no. We currently only sell and ship to the USA. See our shipping policy for details.

Is there any way to order from Canada or outside the USA?

We would love to sell to Canada or other locations but due to the tax burdens and shipping costs we cannot competitively price our products.

Further, most Canadian printing companies are not willing to print our products. If you are in Canada and would like to order, we may be able to accommodate a bulk or special order. Contact us at Shop@dissidentrags.com. 

When will I get my order?

Under normal conditions it takes 3–7 business days to fulfill an order, after which it’s shipped out. The shipping time depends on your location but can take an additional 3-5 days for shipping. Different product types will have different fulfillment and shipping times and may ship separately. See our Shipping Policy for details.

My order should be here by now, but I still don't have it. What should I do?

Refer to our Shipping Policy section in the footer for information about order processing, shipping, and delivery times. Before contacting us, please check review the policy and your order confirmation email for any mistakes in the delivery address.

Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for items stolen or mishandled by the postal carriers but will do our best to make it right.

Do you offer free shipping?

Not currently. Shipping is extremely volatile as we build back better. We are evaluating the situation for opportunities to improve our shipping times and pricing. As such, our shipping policies are subject to change. Refer to our Shipping Policy for details.

If you have a large order or bulk item order, please contact us. We offer shipping discounts on qualifying orders. See below.

Do you offer discounts for bulk purchases?

Yes. If you are interested in a bulk special order, we will do our best to accommodate a special pricing and shipping arrangement. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

Additionally, from time-to-time we offer price break discounts or shipping discounts for certain order sizes or specials on specific products, collections, or seasonal deals. Sign up for our newsletter to keep tabs on new products and specials.

How much does shipping cost?

Refer to our Shipping Policy in the page footer for details on estimated shipping costs by product type. Actual costs are calculated at checkout.

Do the prices on your website include sales or VAT taxes?

No. All of our prices are before any applicable sales/use taxes, shipping, or payment processing fees from your bank or payment provider. 

All taxes, fees, and shipping are calculated when you check out. Sales taxes are calculated according to the applicable jurisdictions and are added to your total purchase amount accordingly.

Some orders shipped to Canadian addresses may be subject to customs, duty, and/or VAT taxes. These are the responsibility of the buyer. 

Are XXL+ sizes available?

We are limited by the inventory of our suppliers. While we don’t currently offer many products in those sizes, we might be able to add larger sizes to some products by request.

We constantly monitor our suppliers’ inventory, however, and will offer new sizes when available.

Some Men’s products are ‘Unisex’ in the description, can women order from the men’s catalogue?

Absolutely! For inventory, fit, and design continuity we offer our most of our T-shirt designs on the same brand (Bella+Canvas) and unisex model. Fit and sizing are consistent across this portion of the catalogue.

We separate the color options and artwork layouts to make it easier for men and women to shop their respective preferences - and to offer the most appealing and relevant product and art pairings.

Tank tops, hoodies, some women's T-shirts, and other specialty apparel items will differ for men’s and women’s products so review the product information carefully.

How do I know what size to get?

One of the challenges of online shopping is getting the right fit. We have included sizing charts and fit descriptions in order to help you make the right choice. Contact us if you have specific questions. 

How do I make my beautiful T-shirt last?

We produce your apparel with direct-to-garment printing. While this is a durable and vivid printing method, you can help make your products look new longer by washing inside out, in cold water. No bleach. Delicate cycle and line or low dry.

Can I contribute artwork or design ideas?

Yes. We welcome original and innovative design ideas from dissident freelancers and creative laypersons. These can be fully mastered digital files or just concept sketches that our designers can bring to life. Please be respectful of all copyright and trademarked material. 

We will do our best to create a value-for-value arrangement in which your contributions will be met in kind. Please contact us for further details.

Some products have a QR icon. Do those actually work?

Yes! The QR codes will direct to dissidentrags.com.

Is Dissident Rags on social media platforms?

We rely on world-of-mouth and the goodwill of our customers to spread our brand. If you have a social network of your own - or have other ideas on grassroots or alternative marketing, please feel free to propagate Dissident Rags. Or reach out to us to discuss.

At present, the mainstream social media platforms do not value free speech or expression. Further, they are openly hostile to dissident thought and the traditional values we seek to preserve.

While online commerce is extremely difficult to operate without some reliance on mainstream infrastructure, we limit our exposure to essential functions whenever possible.

I would like to see [PRODUCT] with [ART] combination. Is this possible?

We hope you will find something in our current catalogue that you love. 

If there is not currently a product/art combination you would like, contact us with your preferences and we will let you know if it is possible.

Our underground artist sweatshop in [REDACTED], operates 24/7 to generate new concepts, so our inventory will be growing over time. Check back with us often!

Why are there so many Latin phrases in the artwork?

The Latin language is the bedrock of the language of Western Civilization. We honor our roots.
